Project Overview
Grantha's is a unique mobile app designed to provide users with a seamless and immersive experience for reading ancient Indian scriptures, or Granthas.
The app blends modern UI/UX principles with historical aesthetics to offer a platform for exploring sacred texts, including the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and many others.
The goal was to make ancient wisdom accessible in a format that resonates with today’s digital users.
Problem Statement
There are plenty of book-reading apps, but none that focus specifically on Indian Granthas with an engaging design and educational features.
Users struggle to find a platform that lets them explore these ancient texts in a user-friendly and immersive way.
The app needed to cater to users looking for an intuitive way to explore, read, and share ancient knowledge.
Objectives
Create a welcoming, easy-to-navigate interface.
Provide personalized user experiences (progress tracking, bookmarks).
Make Granthas accessible with simplified navigation and interactive features.
Enhance learning with verse translations and explanations.
Design Process
Research & Inspiration
I research on the user experience of modern book-reading apps while taking inspiration from ancient Indian art, motifs, and manuscripts to create a design that speaks to both modern users and the app's historical theme.
User Flow & Wireframing
The app was broken into four main sections: Home, Search, Podcasts, and Profile. Each section was carefully planned to make the user journey smooth and intuitive.
Home: Features a welcome message, a daily “Special Granthas” carousel, and an easy-to-navigate book collection.
Search: Includes a search bar and categorized sections for easy exploration.
Podcasts: Allows users to listen to popular podcasts on various Granthas, with a search option and carousels.
Profile: Tracks user progress, bookmarks, and downloads. Users can also view their reading stats, such as how many lines and chapters they've completed. Also Users receive badges for completing milestones.

Visual Design
Background: Dark theme (#1C1C1C) for a modern yet spiritual feel.
Typography: Cormorant Garamond for headings (elegant look), Lora for subheadings.
Elements: Clean and minimalist buttons, icons, and cards to maintain focus on content.

Key Features
Interactive pages with explanations and translations for key verses.
Personalized dashboard tracking user progress.
Achievement Badges: Users receive badges for milestones like a 7-day streak, 100 pages completed, 50 hours read, first Grantha completed, etc., to boost engagement.
Social media sharing for favorite lines or verses.
Challenges
Balancing historical aesthetics with modern usability.
Simplifying navigation for long texts without overwhelming users.
Conclusion
Granth's offers a rich and engaging way for users to explore sacred Indian texts, making it easy to discover, read, and share timeless wisdom in the digital era while keeping users motivated through milestone achievements.
